Description of Volunteer Roles:

Director - Must have performed different roles at camps. Needs to be able to lead and run the camp. Encourage and motivate all volunteers, counselors and campers

Deputy Director - will be second in command after the Director, will lead in camp activities as assigned by the director. Help out anywhere that is needed.

Curriculum Lead - help and support teachers in following the curriculum, lead and organize the afternoon activities. Help out anywhere that is needed.

Teacher - Follow the curriculum provided, feel free to add activities that support the curriculum. Help out anywhere that is needed.

Kitchen Lead - lead, organize kitchen helper to ensure all meals are prepared on time. Will be responsible to follow the menu and recipes provided. Help out anywhere that is needed.

Kitchen Helper - Follow the kitchen lead and help as needed. Mainly chopping, and food preparation.Help out anywhere that is needed.

Shopping Leader - is responsible for buying all the groceries using their own transportation.Help out anywhere that is needed.

Photographer - Will take photos and upload on a daily basis using the camera provided. Need to ensure that all the campers are captured in the photos. Prior experience with using cameras is a MUST. Photographers should be well versed with transferring photos from the camera to a computer. Help out anywhere that is needed.

First Aid - Take care of the campers ailments according to job aids provided. Document all the cases and circle back with the First Aid Committee if additional guidance is needed.

Timekeeper - ensures the camp schedule is followed, using the bullhorn provided. Help out anywhere that is needed.

Yoga Teacher - Lead yoga every morning, follow the job aid provided and circle back with the yoga Committee if additional guidance is needed.

We kindly ask that all volunteers focus on their assigned tasks while also remaining flexible and ready to assist in other areas as needed, especially the kitchen(we serve 5 meals a day to all campers and volunteers). Your teamwork and willingness to pitch in wherever help is needed are greatly appreciated and make a big difference in our efforts!

I hereby assume complete financial and other responsibility for all and every health and accident related expense for myself while I am Vraj premises or on any excursions that I may take part in while attending Vraj Camp. I undertake to hold the Vraj temple organization, all its employees, volunteers, counselors and campers harmless against any action that may arise out of any occurrence involving during Vraj camp.
Note N/A if none. Important Note:Vraj facilities may have been used for food preparation with Peanut, Tree Nuts, Soy, Milk and Wheat. Vraj will not be able to provide quarantined facility or meals with specific dietary requirements.

Consent

Thank you for allowing me to provide my service to our children at Vraj, land of Lord Shrinathji. I will nurture, train, and respect all children and youth at camp. I understand that it is mandatory to attend volunteer workshop at Vraj during May 2-3, 2025. If I cannot attend the workshop, am not able to attend camp for any reason or may not be selected to volunteer at Vraj camp, early camper registration of my child (if made using camp volunteer token) will be cancelled. Regular Refund policy will be applicable. I understand that I have to arrange for my own transportation to and from Vraj. I understand that I have to stay an entire camp week from Saturday to Saturday. I must remain impartial and provide equal care and attention to each and every camper. I will not provide any special treatment to my child or relative. In case of an emergency, my child will contact his/her Counselor. If needed, their Counselor will consult the Camp Director. I understand that due to certain limitations, camp management is not able to accommodate and support volunteers with special needs such as daily Seva, special dietary and living requirements. I understand that any medical bills will be paid in full by me, including co-payments, if it is required in case of emergency during my stay at the camp. Vraj is not liable for any medical bills. I understand that I can use my cellular device(s) and/or computer ONLY in my room. Use of cellular device(s) is prohibited during camp hours except for camp business. Photography and videography is NOT permitted except during Friday night camp-fire or Garba night. I understand that this gathering is an informal family type of gathering, and that the institution does not assume any legal responsibility of any attendee. I hereby release PMVS and its associates, workers and volunteers of any liability arising from any accidents or injuries that may occur while attending the gathering. Vraj is not liable for payment of any medical and/or any other expenses. I understand that hazing and bullying is criminal act and will not be tolerated at Vraj Youth Camp. All parties involved including witnesses have a responsibility to immediately report all incidents directly to the Camp Director with all necessary details. Without such cooperation, the Camp Director will not be able to take any immediate action. As applicable, appropriate action will be taken by the camp management. I understand that I will be sent home on finding of Possession of Illegal drugs, E-Cigarettes and/or Cigarettes, alcohol, illegal drugs, weed/marijuana or any other non-camp appropriate items. Vraj camp is smoke and drug free. It is important for everyone to follow all Camp rules and regulations. Rules and Regulations (Volunteer Handbook) can be found on the vrajyouth.org website. I agree to report any activities committed by myself or other members during the time at camp including, but not limited to smoking/vaping, consuming alcohol, illegal drugs, weed/marijuana and/or gambling of any kind. I agree to report any concerns that may be a sign or symptom of COVID from either myself or another member during camp.
